Our Mission
Our mission is to help youth experience healing and develop the motivation, responsibility, stable values and skills to make successful choices in life.
We do that by meeting the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of youth and their families through residential treatment, counseling, advocacy and support services.
YGA is licensed by the State of Oregon as a Residential Treatment Program and is a member of the Oregon Alliance of Children's Programs.
Our Core Values
We are determined that this agency and the work we do with young people be dependant on God and based on Christian principles and values.
We will always base our services and policies on the principle that our clients are valued and worthy of respect. While our clients come to us with behaviors that require changes, they will never be demeaned, disrespected, or treated as beyond help.
-
Quality, Professional Staff
We know that the quality of services to young people is dependant on our having qualified, well trained, committed and adequately compensated staff. We will seek to maintain the best quality work force possible, and provide for the professional growth of our staff members.
-
Quality, Professional Services
We are committed to providing the highest possible quality of services to our clients. That includes delivering the services needed by our clients, following the best practices available, measuring our effectiveness, and being sensitive to the needs of our constituents and the community.
We are convinced that there is hope for all of our clients because they are not bound by predetermined roles or behaviors – change is possible. They can experience hope for their immediate situations and hope for eternity.
We pledge that the operations of YGA will be conducted in a moral and ethical manner with the highest integrity. This includes all levels of the agency - the board of directors, administration, and treatment services.
We recognize that our services are enhanced through a unified, consistent approach. The effectiveness of our efforts will be multiplied through teamwork. That requires open communication and cooperation throughout the agency, and extends to working cooperatively with other agencies that serve children.
We see relationships as key to the treatment process. Therefore, caring, appropriate relationships must be a priority for all YGA staff in order to model those behaviors to our clients.
